OGT Cemeteries

Riverside Cemetery. Riverside Cemetery is among Ogunquit's oldest documented cemeteries, with plots dating back to the mid-eighteenth century. It is one of the burial grounds maintained as part of the town's historic fabric, preserving a visible record of early Ogunquit families and community life. More than a burial place, Riverside serves as a reminder of how long continuity, kinship, and remembrance have been part of the life of the town.

Locust Grove Cemetery. Locust Grove Cemetery is one of Ogunquit's older burial places, associated with the town's long eighteenth- and nineteenth-century history. Located on Shore Road, it reflects the period when family plots and small local cemeteries formed part of the ordinary landscape of village life. Today it stands as a quiet historic presence, linking present-day Ogunquit to earlier generations whose lives were rooted in the town long before it became a modern seaside destination.

Josias River Graveyard. Josias River Graveyard is a small historic burial ground associated with the Josias River area of Ogunquit. Though less prominent than some of the town's other cemeteries, it forms part of the broader network of old family and community burial places that survive as fragments of Ogunquit's earlier history. Its importance lies in that modesty: it reminds us that memory in Ogunquit is preserved not only in landmarks and institutions, but also in smaller and quieter places.
